自由式摔角是玻利維亞最受歡迎的娛樂項目之一，曾經僅限男子參與。現在，穿著艾馬拉族與蓋丘亞族的原住民傳統裙裝和圓頂禮帽的女性摔角手，也開始逐漸嶄露頭角。在這些精心設計的打鬥中，代表正義與邪惡的兩方，既滑稽又華麗的動作吸引了許多熱情的觀眾。有些女性摔角手甚至還在比賽中與男性選手較量。

Freestyle wrestling, or lucha libre, one of the most popular entertainments in Bolivia, was once the domain of men only. Now cholitas, women wearing the traditional skirts and bowler hats of the indigenous Aymara and Quechua people, are making a mark. The choreographed tussles, part-comic, part-epic struggles between good and evil figures, attract enthusiastic audiences. Some of the women even take on their male counterparts.
